A wedding place setting with layered linens, glassware, and a plated first course.

A table your guests will still be talking about.

Rooted in one of Gainesville's most beloved kitchens for nearly fifty years, David's brings restaurant-caliber food, a warehouse of real décor, and a team that runs the day so you do not have to.

How it comes.

Four formats, one kitchen. Tell us the headcount, the room, and the tone, and we will match the format to it rather than the other way round.

  • Dropped off, hot and ready to serve

The food arrives ready for the line to form. Nothing to cook, nothing to finish, and the pans are sized for the room rather than for a plate.

  • A staffed buffet

Staffed end to end, with setup, service, and cleanup. The pans stay full, the line keeps moving, and the room goes back the way you found it.

  • Carving and grazing stations

Prime rib and brisket carved to order at the station, charcuterie and grazing tables built board by board in front of the room.

  • Plated dinners

Courses out to the table, the way a wedding runs. Southern staples or a full dinner service, out of the same kitchen either way.

Same pit as the restaurant.

The barbecue that goes out to a wedding comes off the same pit as the barbecue on the counter at NW 39th Ave, cut by the same people. The printed menu has a whole page for the big end of it, Feeding a crowd, where everything is sized for a table rather than a plate, and all of it can be ordered online.

Questions we get asked.

Drop-off, or full service?

Either. We can drop it off hot and ready to serve, or staff the whole thing end to end with setup, service, and cleanup. Tell us the headcount, the room, and the tone, and we will match the format to it.

What kinds of events do you cater?

Office lunches and working sessions, client and board dinners, holiday parties, employee appreciation days, grand openings and open houses, conferences and retreats, tailgates and company picnics, milestone birthdays and anniversaries, graduations and send-offs, family reunions, showers and engagement parties, retirement celebrations, memorials and celebrations of life, and backyard feasts big and small.

Is it all barbecue?

Real pit barbecue travels well, which is why it anchors so many of these, but it is only the start. Carving boards, grazing stations, Southern staples, and plated dinners all come from the same kitchen that caters the weddings.

Can you do something small?

Some nights want passed bites and a staffed bar. Some want a backyard full of barbecue. We size the format to the occasion, so tell us the headcount and we will tell you honestly whether we are the right fit for it.

Do the bar and the décor come too?

They can. The full toolkit is available for any event we cater: an insured and staffed bar, linens and centerpieces from the décor warehouse, and a crew that sets up before your guests arrive and disappears with the mess when they leave.

How far do you travel?

We are based in Gainesville and regularly cater within about a hundred miles of it, across North Central Florida. If your office, venue, or backyard sits outside that, ask anyway.

How do we start?

Send us the date, the headcount, and where the food is going. Bobby usually answers within a day.

Anything not here is a conversation. Send us a note and Bobby will answer it, usually within a day.
